Stud Staff (Part Time)



Highfield Grange Thoroughbreds, a boutique family owned and operated Stud in Canterbury is looking for 2 reliable, hard-working and responsible people to join us part time for the up-coming sales season.

These positions are seasonal and run from 1st November 2018 through to January/February 2019.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
Working with mixed ages of bloodstock including foals, mares and older stock, yearling preparation, feeding the farm,  helping with vet work, farrier work and general farm maintenance.

There is a potential for the applicants to travel with the team to the North Island for 2-3 weeks in January to assist with the preparation and presentation of our yearling draft at the 2019 National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka.

Ideal applicants would have:
A high degree of confidence around horses
Previous experience with yearlings is not essential but would be preferable.
Previous experience with horses is essential
Ability to stay calm under pressure
Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
A positive can do attitude
Able to provide at least two references with one from the equine industry
A NZ resident or a Valid NZ work visa

A hardworking person with a passion for horses, previous equine experience and a positive attitude would suit these positions.

Remuneration will reflect on level of experience.

3-4 hours x 5 days per week / rostered on every second weekend with 4 days off over Xmas or New Year.
